On Sunday, September 28th, 2025, employees of the XTB Cyprus, along with their families and others, participated in the “Beach Cleanup” event organized by ICPAC (Institute of Chartered Accountants of Cyprus). The initiative was initiated by Georgia Georgiou, Managing Director | Head of Finance at XTB Ltd & XTB Services Limited.
As part of the event, eight XTB employees cleaned up Governors Beach in Limassol, clearing it of plastic, glass and general waste. Approximately 120 people participated in the event and together they managed to clean up the shores of this magnificent beach.
“Across the island, many private or non-profit organizations take similar actions to help protect and preserve the quality of our waters. As you know, Cyprus is surrounded by the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and is home to some of the world’s cleanest and most stunning beaches.

Our island is also a sanctuary for unique species of seals and turtles, making it even more important to care for our marine life and coastal environment. Keeping our waters clean and our ecosystems thriving takes time, dedication and collective effort from all of us — residents and visitors alike. By taking care of our environment today, we ensure that future generations will also be able to enjoy the beauty and natural treasures of Cyprus”
During the event, a first aid lecture was held, giving participants the opportunity to learn how to respond to life-threatening situations. Interactive workshops on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals were also held, providing a deeper understanding of their importance and application in everyday life. Participants also received specific instructions on proper waste separation and information on effective recycling methods. There were also additional activities to participate in, including Pilates and Zumba classes. The event concluded with delicious snacks and drinks.
“As XTB, we’re committed to continuing our contribution to environmental protection. Our next initiative will be to take part in a large-scale tree-planting campaign to help restore areas affected by the devastating wildfire that struck last July. It was the worst wildfire Cyprus has seen in a century, destroying around 125 square kilometers — nearly 1% of the island — forcing evacuations from 14 villages, and tragically claiming two lives.
– Konstantinos adds
Climate change affects everyone, everywhere. That’s why we believe it’s vital to take real action, no matter how small, to protect our planet and support a more sustainable future. At XTB Cyprus, this is a priority for us, and we’re determined to do our part with the resources we have.”
The activities implemented both at the XTB Headquarters and branches, as well as the consistently implemented XTB activities, are aligned with the XTB Group’s ESG Strategy for 2024–2027, which aims to integrate environmental, social, and governance aspects into the company’s daily operations. Initiatives such as volunteering, pro-ecological initiatives, and sustainable development education make a tangible contribution to combating climate change, protecting the climate, and building a responsible, resilient business. Thanks to our strong commitment, we have the opportunity not only to positively impact our surroundings but also to strengthen an organizational culture based on shared values, collaboration and concern for the future.
“This beach cleanup was more than an ESG initiative — it was a moment of unity. Seeing our employees and their families work side by side reminded us that environmental stewardship thrives through collaboration. Our commitment is to turn small actions into lasting impact, contributing to the sustainable future we want to build.”
