Activities of the XTB Foundation

The Foundation’s interests and activities primarily focus on three main areas:

Financial education for youth

As a Foundation established by a leading financial institution in Poland, we support financial education for young people. The ability to manage finances and understand the basics of the financial market are important practical skills in everyday life.

In 2022, on behalf of the XTB Foundation, the study “Dreams and Plans of Young Poles” was conducted, which showed that Generation Z is interested in finance but lacks reliable sources of knowledge tailored to their age and life circumstances. In response, in 2024, during the Year of Economic Education, we launched projects aimed at introducing young people to the basics of finance and supporting the development of skills and habits related to money management.

Our projects:

Academy of tomorrow. Finance with class.

The project we are running together with the Children’s and Youth Financial Education Foundation “Trampki na Giełdzie.” Capital market practitioners discuss the intricacies of financial management with high school students.

The year 2024 marks the beginning of the intensive development of the XTB Foundation, whose primary statutory goal is to support the financial education of high school youth. Intensifying its activities in line with strategic assumptions, the XTB Foundation, in collaboration with the Children’s and Youth Financial Education Foundation – “Trampki na Giełdzie” (Sneakers on the Stock Exchange Foundation), has created an original educational program in the field of finance called “Academy of tomorrow. Finance with class.”

Economics and financial management are integral parts of our lives. Our mission is to spread knowledge about the economy, as we feel a responsibility for financial education as a leading financial institution in the country. Therefore, the XTB Foundation focuses on educational activities in high schools, where young people develop habits that will impact their entire adult lives.

– Sylwia Kozoń, President of the XTB Foundation

The premise of the Academy is to explain various financial topics to young people in an accessible and engaging manner, such as:

  • Creating and managing a budget
  • The concept of underlying markets
  • The magic of compound interest
  • Differences between various financial instruments
  • Risks associated with investing in the stock market without preparation

In the first stage of the project, mentors from Sneakers on the Stock Exchange conduct classes in schools about the functioning of the capital market. In the second stage, we organize online Q&A sessions during which XTB experts answer students’ questions.

Together with the XTB Foundation, we have developed a format that is accessible to young people and, most importantly, repeatable. In this way, leveraging the potential of our partner, we aim to reach as wide an audience of young people as possible. During the first edition, we plan to reach 100 schools, which will allow us to reach approximately 3,000 students. In the following years, we hope to expand this reach even further.

– Izabela Kozakiewicz – Frańczak, Founder and President of the Sneakers on the Stock Exchange Foundation

We launched the first edition of the program in October 2024, and it included over 2,500 students from more than 100 high school classes in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. Subsequent editions will be expanded to include additional voivodeships and are already planned for 2025.

Patronage classes

Since August 2024, in collaboration with the Polish Economic Society (PTE), we have been supporting the economic education of high school students. As part of the “Patron Classes” project, we provide thousands of young people with access to advanced knowledge of economics and help the most talented to develop their passions.

The “Patron Classes” project leverages the nationwide structures and experience of PTE. Together, we organize training sessions and provide substantive support to high school teachers across Poland. Our goal is to enhance pedagogical competencies, including in the teaching of the subject “Business and Management,” and to inspire students to delve into topics related to economics, entrepreneurship, and finance.

In the subsequent stages of the project, we plan to organize additional training and mentoring sessions for the best students from selected schools. We aim to create conditions for their further development and the realization of their ambitions.

Since 2024, we have also been supporting young talents in the field of economics. Each year, five laureates of the Economic Knowledge Olympiad represent Poland on the international stage. The XTB Foundation has become the strategic sponsor of this representation, providing young economists with the opportunity to compete with the best in the world.
